Bear adventures
August 17th, 2025A few weeks ago, I bought myself a stuffie gorilla. Firstly, you can never be too old for a stuffie. Second, don’t judge until you feel this dude’s belly — seriously it’s the best feeling ever! Also, his grumpy face just made him cute.
Upon his introduction to the family, Griffin insisted that what I had purchased was not a gorilla, but instead, a bear. We had many debates over this. They includes photos and videos of bears and gorillas, but alas my oldest was unconvinced. Additionally he considered eBay and the actual producer of said plushie’s websites that named it as a gorilla to not be “legitimate sources”.
In retaliation, I named my gorilla Bear.
I came to my room some time later to see Bear positioned like this:

I returned the favor by having Bear wear Griffin’s home socks (while G was away at practice):

Seeing this, Griffin said “Oh… it’s on!” and since then, there has been a daily Bear back and forth. We wait until the other person is not around their space, and bring in Bear. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the day.

And yes, Griffin totally wins the recent battles, with the full-on Uno exchange. I was out doing a GoodWill drop off run, to come home to his face showing off his mischief.
Well earned, child! Well earned.
